The best baby Halloween costumes are the ones that elicit many “oohs” and “aahs” from the neighbors during trick or treat, a baby’s first Halloween adventure should be over photographed for posterity, because believe me the memories fade and along with the images you may have reserved in your head.
Personally I believe best baby Halloween costumes include examples like a Lil monster costume, pumpkin baby costume and a cheeky little devil baby costume but then I am a little bit biased because I don’t like seeing babies in vampire or zombie costumes, I prefer them in the kind of soft edged costumes which keeps them looking more like little babies and less like little adults, keep them as soft and cuddly babies and toddlers for as long as possible.
For instance I am a granddad and my youngest granddaughter Honey last year at Halloween, which was her first Halloween, was dressed her in a princess pumpkin baby costume. Now, call me biased but she looked just as drop dead gorgeous as ever and she just kept playing and twiddling with the silky dress, and I have to say it along with her grandma, she really did look like the queen of the pumpkin patch.
Her little cousin Amelia who is about the same age but for a couple of months wore what her mom said was one of the best baby Halloween costumes she had seen for simply ages, a Lil monster costume, probably as her daddy said is because sometimes she can be, quite literally, a little monster from the bowels of hell.
However, even her daddy had to concede that she looked more like a little angel than a little monster, and judging from the comments from the folks in the neighborhood on their trick or treat adventure, with granddad and grandma in tow, it was probably one of the best baby Halloween costumes which they could have chosen, and that goes for both of the girls.
Their big sisters, although both of them are several years older decided that the best baby Halloween costumes should have been a witch costume and a devil costume but I cannot tell you their reasons for saying that because it was told to grandma ‘in confidence’ that she wouldn’t repeat it to mommy and daddy but granddad could be allowed in on the secret.
Both our boys have chosen to carry on the tradition of trick or treat, something we learned from our American cousins when we first moved over the pond to live in Florida, although now we are living in Kentucky the fall evenings can be a lot chillier than the fall evenings down in central Florida where we first lived, and we tend to have to wrap the kids up a little warmer than way back then.
I hope you all have a great Halloween night and the costumes you choose are perfect in every way; if you want the best, you need to visit this great website, I guarantee you will find something really suitable for everyone, cuddly soft costumes for kids and hideous fanged vampire costumes for dads, and moms, for you, maybe a sexy flamenco dancer’s costume.
Have fun choosing!
It is interesting to note that one trick or treat tradition from Britain and Ireland called souling involved poor people sing songs for the dead and they were rewarded with cakes. In 1895 a new tradition emerged in Scotland where kids, toddlers and infants were dressed up in their best baby Halloween costumes to receive fruit, food and coins for their effort.
